PRODUCTION OF Candida BIOMASSES FOR HEAVY METAL REMOVAL FROM WASTEWATERS

Yeasts can accumulate heavy metals and grow in acidic media. In the present study, it was shown that Candida yeasts an aqueous solution single Cu(II) Ni(II) cations. The effect of metal ions on specific growth rate biomasses uptake during phase investigated a batch system. Bioaccumulation efficiency decreased with increasing ion concentrations at constant sucrose concentrations. Both biomass concentration were more inhibited bioaccumulation media containing singly as compared singly. maximum saturation examined double-reciprocal form Monod equation.
